Ashley Stoney
Ashley Stoney, Vice President, is a strategic communications leader with more than 15 years of experience leading award-winning campaigns in cable, consumer, corporate, higher education, and housing finance sectors. She collaborates with clients to develop creative and compelling communications strategies to help solve their latest business challenges, and she has a passion for helping clients reach communities of color and underserved populations.
Previously, Ashley was a director of DE&I communications at Comcast where she led communications strategies to reach a global team of 5,000+ technologists. She was also a principal at Korn Ferry, leading DE&I communications for a range of consumer, higher education, and tech clients. Ashley also co-led integrated external communications campaigns on housing innovation for Fannie Mae, a Fortune 25 company and leading provider of housing finance.
Prior to joining Fannie Mae, Ashley was the Director of Communications at the Plastics Industry Association, serving as spokeswoman and leading media relations. Ashley previously held roles at communications agencies including Finn Partners, Hill+Knowlton Strategies, and Ketchum, supporting many clients including Burning Glass Technologies, Dr Pepper Snapple Group, and the Nuclear Energy Institute, among others. She earned a Cannes Lion award for her work with Dr Pepper Snapple Group and a SABRE award for her work with the Nuclear Energy Institute.
Ashley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Howard University. She has served on the Board of Directors for Sela Public Charter School and was recently a member of the Wonder Council at the National Children’s Museum. Ashley has been published in The New York Times, New York Magazine’s The Cut, The Washington Post’s The Lily, ESSENCE, Refinery29, and Romper.
Ashley’s favorite place in Washington, D.C. is the National Museum of African American History and Culture. The building is simply stunning, and each visit is magical.
