How Curley Does Digital… in a Pandemic and Beyond
I recently heard someone say we’ve seen the equivalent of ten years of technological advancement in the last six months. I haven’t fact checked it yet… but I believe it. In between the grim news and dark days, I see glimpses of bright, shiny lights: digital disruptions, warp speed innovations and more and more people having a voice.
As the head of digital at our firm, this excites me. But it also validates our long-standing approach to digital strategy.
While most agencies have access to the same platforms, tools and vendors, we view digital a little differently. For us, it’s not a separate tactic or highly complicated “add-on.” Digital is simply a part of everything we do. We pride ourselves on delivering digital solutions to our clients that are accessible, strategic and rooted in impact.
Why does that matter?
Because you don’t need a master’s degree in data analytics to make an impact. And, quite frankly, you don’t have time to get one. Pre-pandemic, some organizations shied away from digital, because they didn’t quite understand it – or how to use it.
Now, digital accessibility is more important than ever before. For example, with Congress and state legislatures going virtual, the barriers to entry for communicating with your elected officials have fallen. You don’t need to fly to Washington, D.C. to be heard. More people have access to their representatives via virtual platforms – and representatives are connecting with more constituents every day.
Making an impact doesn’t have to be expensive. The pandemic has expanded everyone’s audiences. Suddenly, we need to communicate with more people, more efficiently. But that doesn’t necessarily mean organizations have the budgets to do so. In fact, it’s the opposite.
Whatever your budget is – let’s start there. Part of our strategic approach is our willingness to be nimble and scalable. We adapt tactics to fit your changing needs – and the ever-changing landscape. We’re constantly thinking about what’s next but not in lieu of what works. The key is to start small and grow.
Have $1000 to spend on digital? Let’s record a podcast and gain employee buy-in. Want your members to see the great advocacy work you’re doing? We can boost it to them through your social feeds. Need to transition your events to virtual? Let’s create customized Zoom backgrounds to make them memorable.
Whether it’s through increased audience engagement, broader brand awareness or actionable insights, our clients see the value of digital every day. Pandemic or not, these tools are here to stay, and we’re excited to see where they take us.
