Kathy Orellana, Account Supervisor, specializes in public affairs, coalition building, and government relations for corporations and non-profit organizations. At Curley Company, she combines her experience in public policy and communications to produce effective campaigns that influence policy outcomes.
She has worked with numerous health-focused organizations to identify strategic opportunities to elevate their key messages among policymakers and advocates, translate complex research for a broad range of audiences, and plan and execute advocacy days and policy briefings.
Prior to Curley Company, Kathy was a Public Policy Associate at Burness, a public interest communications firm. There, she worked with philanthropic and nonprofit clients on health and healthcare issues through policymaker and stakeholder outreach, legislative research, and writing. She also developed advocacy trainings for researchers, community leaders, and public health officials.
Before her time at Burness, Kathy worked for the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research at the Food and Drug Administration, where she helped plan regulatory meetings. She also worked at TwinLogic Strategies, a bi-partisan lobbying firm, where she assisted with logistics for political events and research for corporate and non-profit clients.
She attended St. Mary’s College of Maryland, majoring in Political Science and Latin American Studies. She grew up in Bethesda, MD and now resides in Washington, DC.
